Welcome - San Diego French American School

Dear Prospective Families,

At San Diego French-American School, we open the door of opportunity for budding young minds. Our students thrive in a challenging environment designed to foster autonomy and to teach them to adapt to new cultures and new languages. They grow up in an international setting surrounded by children of more than 30 different nationalities who speak 20 different languages.

In a rigorous curriculum administered in both French and English, students become well prepared to meet the challenges of high school and college, whether in a French school abroad, an international baccalaureate program, or a college-prep high school. Your child could be the next one from SDFAS to win a national French contest, earn the prestigious IB diploma, graduate from an Ivy League university, or teach English abroad.

When you tour the campus, you will see how the benefits of a bilingual education come to life. In the preschool, you will see youngsters discovering art and language as they re-create a Matisse or utter some words in French or in English.

You will see the world through the eyes of a kindergartener as he listens intently to a grandmother speaking of her colorful childhood in another country. You can share the "aha" moment of the child from France who understands the English teacher's lesson for the first time. And you can feel the camaraderie of the middle school students as they team up on the sports field or in the classroom.

Combining the best of both the French and American systems of education, SDFAS provides your children the foundation they need to succeed in an American, French or international high school. The blend of a highly qualified faculty and the experience of a proven curriculum give SDFAS the edge among the local educational institutions.

SDFAS...open books...open minds...open worlds.... We invite you to discover the benefits of San Diego's premier bilingual school.
