Admissions Process - San Diego French American School
Admission calendar
All applicants from PK0 to 8th grade will follow the application process.
- Starting November 3, 2014: Applications accepted for all grade levels.
Priority will be given to applications received on or before February 13, 2015.
- February 16, 2015 and after:
Applications may be submitted, however applicants may be subject to placement on the “wait pool” for those classes that have reached capacity.
- January and February, 2015:
Student observations, by appointment:
For children entering PK1, PK2, or Kindergarten, applicants will be contacted by the pre-elementary school administrator, Babeth Esterly, besterly@sdfrenchschool.org.
For applicants entering 1st grade and up, contact the Admissions Officer, Virginia
Berracasa: admissions@sdfrenchschool.org. Families with children entering PK0 need to meet with the Pre-Elementary admissions team prior to acceptance.
- February 13, 2015:
Deadline for current students to register. Current students who are not re-enrolled by February 13 will be considered new students and subject to a late enrollment fee of $250.
- March 3, 2015:
Admissions decisions sent to new applicants.
- March 4, 2015:
Begin enrollment of new applicants who have been accepted based upon the Admissions Committee's decisions.
- March 20, 2015:
Deadline for new accepted applicants to register. Enrollment Agreement must be completed and submitted with deposit for the student to be enrolled in the 2015-16 school year.
- Ongoing:
Qualified new students may continue to apply. In classes where space is still available, qualified candidates will be invited to register.
Admission process
- Applications are reviewed by the Admissions Team.
- Current students and siblings have priority to register.
- Admissions decisions letters are sent to applicants.
- Accepted applicants enroll, return contract and deposit.
- Enrollment is complete and a student may begin school when payments are up to date and all applicable
paperwork has been signed, completed and returned to the office.
